Fabrication

The fabrication process is central to the work, shaping both the material language and the experiential quality of each installation. For Unnatural Nature, fabrication became a means of translating sensory research and conceptual themes into physical form. Textiles were hand-selected, dyed, and manipulated to create shifting layers of transparency and weight, allowing light, movement, and projection to interact with the surfaces in subtle, atmospheric ways. Modular structures were constructed to support hanging elements and guide the participant’s journey through the space, while custom lighting and digital soundscapes were integrated to heighten the immersive environment.

Each component was developed through iterative prototyping—testing fiber behavior, light diffusion, and spatial sequencing to achieve a balanced, meditative rhythm. The fabrication process emphasized craft and precision, but also intuition, allowing the materials to shape the installation’s final character. The result is a tactile, responsive environment where construction, technique, and sensory intention come together to create an experience that feels both grounded and transformative.
